I appropriate the images, recreate the products featured
under the guise of a fictitious company, and market
the products online, as well as the real world. The
products have some part of heir functionality subverted.
For example a submarine made of recycled cardboard,
a model kit made from a single rough-cut block of
wood with a decal, and toys to fragile to touch. Ironically
many of these shoddily produced products are more
visually appealing and function better than the ‘real
thing.’ |
