My idea for the piece comes from a band called the Pixies. The title is from
one of their opening lines in a song. I looked at a lot of resource images
of swimming, drowning, sycronized swimming, and fantasy images. I arrived at this image with some help of submerging some of my daughters' barbies in a fish tank; of course after she went to bed! I had a challenge capturing how fabric moves under water.
