Mangrove wetlands constitute important
ecological asset and invaluable economic resource to
the coastal comunities. The Mangrove of Ratones - named
after the biggest river that crosses it - is sited in
the northeast part of the island of Florianopolis -
SC and is part of Ecological Station of Carijós.
Where its vegetation is touched by the sea water at
Daniela Beach, it loses its leaves and gets dry. One
can see many trunks partialy covered by the sea water.
It's a magnificient view!
