My print was inspired
by another exchange with www.sunberst.com (which was
"Found: in Japan"), it was a challenge for
me to do something that anyone would immediatly think
"Japan," upon seeing it. I have been to
Japan many times, both in the USN and as a civillian.
I have an afinity for the culture and especially Moku
Hanga (wood block prints). I have a modest collection
of prints, which inspire my work, or at least challenge
me to make the attempt ;^).
This print is one that I rejected for that other project
in favor of one of "Fugisan." The print
shows an octopus living in what once was a trap intended
for him. However, the trap has lost its bouy and become
as he intended: Home! |
